Patient Care Technician / X-Ray Technician
The Patient Care Technician / X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the Urgent Care clinic. This includes assisting providers with patient exams, administering basic medical treatments, and operating X-ray imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images. Clinical duties include greeting and triaging patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting patient history and complaints, assisting medical staff during patient examinations and minor medical procedures, administering injections, immunizations, and other basic treatments, collecting, handling, and transporting lab specimens for testing, ensuring exam rooms are properly stocked and maintained for efficient patient flow. This role is also responsible for X-Ray imaging including setting up and operating digital X-ray equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images, positioning patients correctly and adjust equipment settings to obtain the required views, properly labeling, organizing, and storing X-ray images in the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed to minimize exposure for patients and staff. There are also administrative duties including registering and checking-in patients, collecting insurance and demographic information (as needed), scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and coordinating patient follow-up (as needed), maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records, assisting with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a medical assistant / radiologic technology program, current medical assistant and/or limited X-ray technician certification/ state license, 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting, preferably urgent care, emergency, or primary care, proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and operating a variety of X-ray equipment and digital imaging systems, strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and customer service skills to work with patients and the care team, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment, basic knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, and common treatments.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time.Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week (10 and 8 hour shifts).Experience: Patient care 5 years and X-Ray 5 years.
